Independent Financial Adviser, Antony Barton, passed his Discretionary Investment Management exam this November.
The exam enhances the skills required for the development of the wealth strategies and portfolio management across Robertson Baxter’s client base. It is an FCA approved qualification and a requirement for the discretionary investment management industry.
Robertson Baxter currently work with discretionary investment managers to invest funds on behalf of clients, therefore it is important to understand this in order to maintain valuable working relationships.
Antony, who joined the firm in September, said, “The exam was quite challenging and took me back to my A level maths days. The knowledge gained is invaluable, particularly getting a true understanding of how and where clients’ money is invested to get the very best result for them.”
Joint Managing Director Stephen Baxter said: “This exam is complex, consisting of questions using equations and formulae and it takes true commitment to complete. We congratulate Antony on achieving this as it will benefit him, the firm and our clients.
Antony had previously passed the Financial Services, regulations and ethics exam and now compliments this with the Discretionary Investment Management qualification and can now use the designation CertPFS (DM).
