What a start to 2021! A lot has happened in the world and in Robertson Baxter already and as we approach the end of January, we wanted to share our good news with you.
1. Introducing our new team member
Firstly, we are delighted to introduce you to the newest member of our team, Charlotte Slack. Charlotte joins us in the newly-created role of Business Administrator, and is providing administrative support across a range of functions including compliance, management-reporting, client communications and marketing.
Already she is having a positive impact, both in terms of supporting senior management and supporting clients where needed with accessing the newly-released client portal Wealth Platform 2. It has certainly been a new challenge for Charlotte, especially since she has joined us remotely, but she has taken to the role with a calm, can-do attitude, and definitely has the right skillset to provide us with the support we need behind the scenes so that we can implement our plans for continuous improvement and growth.
2. Dan’s exciting new direction
The second piece of news is that our Paraplanning Team Leader Dan Willers is now in the process of transitioning into the role of Independent Financial Adviser. Dan is one exam away from Chartered Status (not to mention the fact that he has nearly enough letters after his name for a game of scrabble!), and he has already built up a great relationship with many of our clients during his five years at Robertson Baxter.
We are delighted to be able to support another member of our team with the opportunity to progress in their career and are looking forward to seeing Dan achieve success in his new role. We are excited too, as a business, at the opportunity this will provide to welcome new clients onboard as part of our plans for growth.
3. We’re award finalists… again!
And, last but definitely not least, we are delighted to share that we have been shortlisted for the third year running for the Yorkshire Financial Awards! This year we have been shortlisted in the following two categories:
- Financial Advice Team of the Year
- Rising Star Award (RB Paraplanner and content writer Chloe Timperley)
It was a real honour to be shortlisted for these awards in 2020 (results to be confirmed in February 2021), in what has undoubtedly been one of our more challenging years as a company to date. It reaffirms to us how proud we are of our business which has not only survived, but flourished in the last twelve months and is a wonderful acknowledgement of the quality of the work we do and the sheer amount of hard work and energy invested from the team.
This has to be Chloe’s year, having been shortlisted last year too in the same category. Chloe is the youngest member of our team and has only been with RB less than two years, but she has already made a huge impact with the quality of her writing and her technical skills – cashflow modelling, excel wizardry and website design to name a few. This talented young lady is one to watch!
We hope you enjoyed reading our latest news. And if you missed it, Antony’s article about what we can learn from 2020, published on 5th January, is definitely worth a read. We look forward to continuing to work with you this year and we will continue to keep you updated with a blend of both relevant financial and more personal news. Please stay safe and well.
