Following Robertson Baxters 7th birthday last month it feels the right time to provide an update on the business and the progress that we have made, especially in the last 12 months. Those of you who have visited us recently know that we have undertaken significant work at The Mill creating additional professional space for the Directors and for clients, this will ensure we remain in our current home for the long term.
We continue to invest in our staff; to further support our client proposition Keila Stocks joined us in January this year as Technical Assistant to Gillian Shirt assisting in the preparation of reviews and advice to new and existing clients. Associate Director Simon Shorthouse now manages the relationships of a significant number of clients providing the highest levels of advice and service to them. In addition Simon now has a management responsibility for our support team and brings 17 years of experience gained at HSBC to the role.
This month marks the end of Michael Woodheads tenure as chairman and we thank him for his guidance and friendship and we all wish him the very best in his future endeavours.
On a day to day basis when not advising clients Stephen and Greg continue to focus on the development of the business including the client and investment propositions ensuring the company continues to surpass the levels of strict supervision and regulation prescribed by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Robertson Baxter has continued to experience significant growth and has secured many new client relationships in the last 12 months; most notably we continue to be appointed in the Charity Sector by clients such as The National Coal Mining Museum for England at the end of 2013. This was a very pleasing addition to the charity clients that we already look after and took the firms funds under management to 123 million.
In summary the end of year 7 sees us looking forward with ever increased optimism; the UK economy continues to surprise on the upside, Robertson Baxter has the right structure and individuals to deliver the highest levels of financial planning advice and service to private clients, trustees and charities across Yorkshire. We thank you for your continued support, we do not take it for granted and we will continue to work hard to ensure we work together for many years to come.
