About Barney
Barney has been in Financial Services for over 7 years and has been at Robertson Baxter since April 2021. He started his career in a compliance role and has gone through the financial services process to understand the workings of the industry before joining Robertson Baxter as a paraplanner in 2021.
Having worked as a paraplanner for two years and gaining a full understanding of the financial planning process, Barney moved over to the adviser team in October 2023 as a Trainee Adviser where he is developing his knowledge and skills to advise clients on investments, pensions, tax planning, estate planning and protection.
Barney was named a finalist in two categories, Trainee of the Year and Rising Star of the Year, at the 2025 Professional Adviser Awards, where he also received a Highly Commended recognition. This outstanding achievement is a testament to Barney’s talent and dedication, and one we are extremely proud of at Robertson Baxter.
Barney is originally from Huddersfield and enjoys spending time with his family. He is a big football and Liverpool fan, as well as following Huddersfield Giants home and away. Barney spends his weekends playing football for a local team, watching basketball and socialising with friends.
