Robertson Baxter Celebrates ‘Rising Star’ Win for Paraplanner Chloe Timperley

On the 25th February 2021, financial firms and professionals from across the region tuned in to watch the Yorkshire Financial Awards ceremony via livestream. The event seeks to champion the ‘best and brightest’ in Yorkshire’s financial sector, and Robertson Baxter – a small independent Financial Planning firm based in the outskirts of Huddersfield – have been amongst the finalists now for three years running.

In 2021, the advisory team was shortlisted for the ‘Financial Adviser Team of the Year’ award, while financial paraplanner Chloe Timperley, who joined the firm in April 2019, was announced the winner of ‘Rising Star of the Year’ award.

The ‘Rising Star’ Award seeks to identify promising individuals under the age of 35 building a career in the financial sector. According to the judges, they were impressed by Chloe’s commitment to ‘removing jargon and giving clear explanations’ in her communications with clients, thus creating ‘increased trust and confidence, inevitably leading to increased business and high retention levels’. They added that Chloe is ‘a great asset to [her] company’.

Chloe’s broad experience base within the financial planning sector stood her in good stead, having worked in compliance, communications, technical research, data analysis and report writing. You can watch the moment the award was announced by presenter and comedian Lucy Porter below:

Stephen Baxter, Robertson Baxter’s Managing Director, said: “We were delighted that our efforts were recognised again with two nominations this year! To be shortlisted for two of the most important awards on offer is a wonderful recognition of the hard work and talent within the Robertson Baxter team. Having Chloe recognised as a rising star in the industry means we are not only well-placed to help people’s finances today, we are perfectly positioned to do so in the future, too.”

Last year ‘Team RB’ donned black ties and ballgowns for a glamorous event held at New Dock Hall at the Royal Armouries in Leeds. This year was a more muted affair as each member of the team tuned in from home, but just as momentous in light of the extraordinary challenges faced by all in 2020.

Practice Manager Joanne Vaughan commented “I am delighted for Chloe to win this award after being shortlisted last year, even more so as she was up against candidates from well-known large financial organisations. She is a very talented young lady who has huge potential and definitely one to watch”.
